Ethiopian Airlines provides two flights a day from Addis Ababa Bole Airport. There is a morning flight that arrives at Lalibela Airport around noon and another flight departing Addis Ababa Bole Airport around midday. The duration of each flight is approximately 55 minutes. During major festivities and tourist seasons, such as Ethiopian Christmas and Epiphany (known as Timket in Amharic), flights are more frequent. Ethiopian Christmas Day is celebrated on January 7, with a memorable celebration on Christmas Eve (January 6) featuring Ethiopian liturgy through the night and into the early morning. Ethiopian Epiphany (Timket) is celebrated on January 19. Please note that flights may operate directly to Lalibela or via Bahir Dar and Gondar. If you are in Addis Ababa, tickets can be arranged through Ethiopian Airlines Ticket Offices or your local travel agent. Alternatively, you can book your flight on the Ethiopian Airlines website.
Upon arrival at Lalibela Airport, we can arrange transport to pick you up and drop you off at Tukul Village. The drive from the airport to Tukul Village takes approximately 30 minutes.

By Road
If you have more time to explore Ethiopia or are an expatriate living in the country, traveling by road from Addis Ababa to Lalibela can be a rewarding experience. The Ethiopian countryside offers breathtaking scenery.
We recommend taking this trip over two days to fully enjoy the journey. Consider spending a night in Dessie, located approximately 400 km from Addis Ababa. Start early the next morning and continue to Lalibela, enjoying the dramatic mountainous landscapes along the way. You should arrive in Lalibela after lunch.
Bring food and drinks with you and choose a beautiful spot along the route to stop and savor the moment.
Bon Voyage!
